We’ve had a busy month! With a toddler, an infant, a full-time job, a house to keep up and our NEW garden (more on that later) — it’s a lot. I’ve been back at work for about a month now (maybe a bit longer, actually) and it’s still hard getting back into the routine. The mornings are rushed, Javi’s toddler ways are in full force at 6AM, and I miss out on seeing Lola until late in the evening. But it’s nice to spend some time with Javi on the drive to school and seeing him at school is a special treat I’ll miss when he’s older. I recently went through my photos and I have thousands from each month. I’ve chosen a few to highlight what we’ve been up to.

Every once in a while we make it home from school at a reasonable hour and have a bit of time before the dinner/bedtime routine. On this particular day after picking up Lola we thought it would be fun to go out for an ice cream treat! Javi’s such an ice cream lover and even though we got him his own cone, he chose to eat mine. ALWAYS. Unfortunately, it started raining on us… but it was still fun! We can’t wait for good, warm weather to a consistent thing.

Lola is growing like crazy. My goal (for this week) is to post her 4 month update. So there will be plenty to come about Miss Lola, but I will say she’s spent most of this month sick. I’m not sure if I got her sick or Javi did, or daycare did… but the poor thing has coughed nonstop and has been so stuffed up for weeks. It’s sad.

Every morning when we get to school, Javi spends a bit of time with me in my classroom. Usually I’m in a rush to get him off to his classroom so I can do what I need to do for the day but sometimes, if we arrive early or I have a slow morning he stays and “plays”. He loves all the activities on the shelves and it makes me so excited for him that he’ll start in a 3-6 classroom in the Fall. He’s going to LOVE it.

The love between Javi and Lola is amazing to see. The more alert and vocal she’s becoming, the more interested he is in her. He makes sure she has her stuffed animals, and toys, and a bib for her spit up. Her includes her (for a few minutes, then he’s done with her) in his play, too.

Javi’s chin is healing really well from his fall at the beginning of the month. I think he will probably end up with a scar but I’m told that adds character…

It’s taken a while for the warm weather to show up but now that it’s here (at times) we can’t get Javi in the house. He always wants to be outside. It’s terrible for me since I dislike being outside… but I don’t mind him getting out his energy. He has A LOT of it.

Javi’s still loving his sports class! This past week was hockey and last week was track and field.

We had such a fun day with cousins this past weekend! I love getting together with my family and taking pictures and then comparing them to when we were little. It’s amazing to see the resemblances.

Here are some videos from the month:
